What's New For 2019?

There are a couple of changes that come with the arrival of the WRX that make it the most powerful and best-handling  WRX yet. There is also a number of tech updates like Apple CarPlay & Android Auto standard on every model as part of STARLINK multimedia system. There is also a special new Cool Grey Khaki paint color. A new performance feature that the WRX has to offer is Subaru SI-DRIVE.  Subaru SI-DRIVE works by enabling three different driving modes of performance by regulating the Engine Control Unit, fine-tuning the throttle, and adjusting transmission shifts. But the biggest change for is the WRX STI receives a new air intake and high-flow exhaust system to enhance its performance for a more thrilling driving experience.

Powertrain & Performance

If you are looking for a sports car your number one priority is powerful performance; which there is no shortage of. There are two aspects of the WRX's performance that separate the WRX from the competition, a Subaru BOXER engine, and standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. The BOXER engine has a unique horizontal design with pistons that move side to side cancel out each other's vibrations. Resulting in a smooth and efficient ride. The BOXER engine design also takes up less room under the hood and gives the WRX a low center of gravity for truly gripping performance. While the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive provides unmatched traction and control by evenly supplying power to all four wheels evenly.

  • Subaru WRX: Powering the WRX is a power-packed 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder BOXER engine with twin-scroll turbocharger with intercooler. The WRX 2.0L engine produces 268 horsepower and goes from zero-to-60 in just 5.5 seconds. In true rally car fashion, the WRX is equipped with a fully synchronized 6-speed manual transmission. The WRX Premium and Limited trim levels are available with a Sport Lineartronic® Transmission with paddle shifters.
  • Subaru WRX STI: But for more powerful performance the WRX STI has that something extra you are looking for with a 310 horsepower 2.5L four-cylinder turbocharged BOXER engine.  The 2.5L BOXER engine is exclusively paired with a fully synchronized close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission. In addition to a more powerful engine, the WRX STI has a number of other performance features that include Driver Controlled Center Differential All-Wheel Drive, Brembo® performance braking system, and Subaru SI-DRIVE.
  • Technology & Safety Features

    Not only is the Subaru WRX powerful, it is almost smart and has a wide array of advanced safety features and the latest tech. Standard on every WRX is the latest version of Subaru STARLINK multimedia system with a 6.5-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay & Android Auto as well as Bluetooth wireless streaming. There is also a 7-inch STARLINK multimedia system with available Navigation and Harmon Kardon speakers.

    When it comes to safety features the Subaru WRX has a lot to offer. WRX models equipped with the Sport Lineartronic® Transmission are available with Subaru EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. Which includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist and Sway Warning, Pre-Collision Braking, and Pre-Collision Throttle Management. Other available safety features that the WRX brings to the include High Beam Assist, Reverse Automatic Braking, and Blind Spot Detection / Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
